What is Christmas?

Good day Family,

As the rush of Christmas dawns upon us, I felt it fitting to pose the question: "What is Christmas?"
The misconception of Christmas has become so tradition orientated that we actually forget the actual reason why we celebrate the day...

Malls are busy with last minute shopping for gifts and groceries to prepare fancy meals, children are rushing around screaming for toys, parents want to buy the best clothing for their kids to wear around this season... Is this really Christmas?! I think not...

Christmas is the birthday of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Born to the virgin Mary. A child that will go on to save the world. The Messiah. The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords. So many of us get fixated around the charade of Christmas that we forget to say: "Happy birthday Jesus".

The book Luke in the Bible Says this:
"He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them."

Folks, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas. Let us go out and spread the joy, love and peace that God has called for in our lives and in turn make this world a better place. Educate your children with what is right not what society portrays to be right.

Tribute to MADIBA

Good day Family,

Today is most definitely a sad day for many throughout the world as we all mourn the passing of an icon, Nelson R. Mandela.
What can we learn from the legacy left by such a great man?! Many have tried yet few have succeeded... Why, you may ask?! This answer screams at us... Those that have failed, have failed to try again. They just gave up. Madiba didn't. He continued to fight the good fight of faith. Echoes of meliorism bounce of the walls of a nation that was oppressed. Soldiering on and staying true to the belief that all can change for the betterment of mankind is all that really matters in a world that tells us more of what we can't do than more of what we can.

Overturning circumstances to empower the human spirit and instilling a sense of self-belief is of absolute importance and this is what he did. He let his actions speak his feelings, his words shout praise and his mannerism inspire nations. The ultimate way to praise God for all He does is to let your life be your worship.

It's now left to us as individuals, as a nation, as a continent and also as a world to live in such a manner. Act out of love and not out of pride. Humility is essential in ensuring we lift people up instead of breaking them down. We have to change internally before we can effect an outward change.

In closing, I leave you with some words from the great man: "A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special."

Rest in peace Tata Madiba. You will never be forgotten.

Right Track

Good day family,

Will Rogers said: "Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." 
I found that to be so fitting in explaining just what it is we are doing. We dream big, and merely go through the motions. Where's that hunger?! Where's that driving force?! Where's that 'never say die' attitude?!

We've got to dig deeper when we are chasing bigger dreams. Stay focused on what is really important to you and make sure you do what is required and then some...
We have to continuously be on top of our game and keep our eyes fixed on the goal/prize/dream.

Another important aspect to remember is that although we're on the right track, we may not be on the right train. Be ready, train your mind, body and soul. Learn from those around you. Keep grasping information for when your chance comes, you'll only get one shot at it.

You know you're on the right track when you never turn to look back... Keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. Each day, each week, each month, each year you're getting closer and closer.
